Hot sauce or?

Post by Snowman8 »

I read mixed results with Hot sauce leaving streaking on boat hulls so I am wondering what everyone is using for a quick wipe down & water spot removal? I have a white hull so I am fortunate that it doesn’t show much but I like to keep it clean and shiny. I have tried Boat Juice but I like the Hot Sauce better because the Boat Juice always left a dull residue. My bottle of Hot Sauce is getting low so time to order more or try something new.

Love the hot sauce for wipe down…don’t care for the vinegar smell. Some here use their own concoction. Some use H2O guard & gloss which left streaks on our dark hull.

I believe BBP bathes in hot sauce. ;)

I dd not like the smell of Hot Sauce, the people I purchased my boat from used Babe's Boat Bright after every weekend and Babes Spot remover (only when needed). These are the only products they ever used. I continue to use and the hull looks absolutely like new. I also wax it, but they never did that. At this point after 20+ years I am going to just stick with it.

I got streaks and still getting to get rid of them. Not sure if it's the hot sauce or Adams. But it's a bitch to get rid of. Just ask sailor!

That’s what I thought sailor said. I think he dislikes Hot Sauce as much as I dislike EZ Loader trailers.. I thought I would just ask if anyone has found something better since my bottle of Hot Sauce is getting low. I never had a problem with the white hull but I thought I would just ask.

X's 2 on the Babe's Boat Bright & spot remover. Rarely use the spot remover, but Boat Bright is great and smells really good.

We have babes at work and it worked really good but it didn't have any uv added protection in it. I have a full gallon of hot sauce so we will see on this topic. The jury is still out.

Some have had decent luck with 303, but I haven't used Hot Sauce so I can't really compare it.

Snow, in case you weren't quite sure....I HATE HOT SAUCE.....AND EZ LOADER trailers. I will never put Hot Sauce on my boat again, even if they gave me a lifetime supply. Oddly enough, I didn't mind the smell too much.

Seriously, with a black hull, I had streaks so bad I had to wash the hull with Dawn and I still had a few. I tried a little, a lot, wipe quick, wax after. Nothing I did would stop the streaking. I think part of it is the black hull. I had decent luck with Meguiar's Flaship product for a while, but haven't tried that lately. Best thing I have found is a quick freshwater wash and dry when I get home using a good car shampoo. I can wash and dry the sides in less than 10 mins. I add a quick detailer coat (I"ve used Mothers, Meguiar's, and the the Turtlewas with Graphene, which I didn't car for--again, streaks).

Always open to new ideas though

Well we definitely agree on one of those! Lol. I found another bottle of Hot Sauce so I guess I’m good for the rest of summer. I thought I was about out and wanted to see if there was something better I should try. Like I said earlier I haven’t had any trouble with streaking (at least with my boat) so I will just wait until I am completely out.

Funny how Boat Bling Hot Sauce works for some and not for others with dark hulls. There are plenty of positive reviews from multiple sites out there with an occasional hater after a google search of Boat Hot Sauce. Here's a one minute dark hull sample review vid from my Lake life friends....

Do you suppose it has something to do with applying it to a hot hull? My white hull never gets too hot even in direct sunlight. I know if you apply most automotive wax’s to a hot car it will leave so many streaks you won’t know what to do.

I've thought about that S8 but I just applied some to our Cobalt on Thursday in direct sunlight and an 88 degree day. No streaks. Our hull is thoroughly waxed though. Again, YMMV.
