R5 Swim Platform Mat

I have a 2013 R5 with the optional factory mat on the swim platform. Due the fading of the color over the years and the fact that it is very hot in the sun, i am looking to remove it and just have the fiberglass gel finish on the swim platform.

Has anyone removed this factory mat? How easy does it come off? How did the platform look once removed?

Interested in hearing some tips from someone who has done this previously.

They sand off all the original grip surface to get the soft mat to stick on, so its not going to look good.

It will be super slippery even with the little bumps. You will want sea dek on it. Get a lighter color. Or just add water.
