Cobalt 232 Underwater Lights Pictures?

Post by spen5151 »

Hello, does anyone out there happen to have pictures of underwater lights that were installed at the factory when the boat was ordered? If so you you mind sharing? Also, if you have an aftermarket set installed and wouldn’t mind sending pictures that would be great. I’m looking for pictures of the transom standing behind the boat while it is out of the water if possible. I am installing a set of lumitecs and I am trying to decide the best location. I believe factory install is to the direct left and right of the drive on the transom.

Installed my lights this past weekend. Thought I would share a picture. From what I could tell this is very close to where the factory installed underwater lights on the 232. It’s the flattest part of the transom and I was able to get them low enough under the waterline. Excited to see how they look this weekend.

Don't know if this helps ya, but here is a pick of our R7 surf with them. They are cool and everything, but if I had to delete something from my boat due to affordability, they'd be the first thing on the list.

I’m about to install the Lumitecs on my boat this weekend. Was your placement good or any gotchas? Any action shots? Thanks!

Figured I’d follow up. I ran out of time so decided just to have them installed by a local shop. The tech convinced me to place them outside the stern drive cavity because the extended running surface blocks the light from radiating laterally. I’m very happy with the results. I went with the blue/white combo Seablaze X2 from lumitec. They have thermal protection to keep them from overheating, so t require a separate controller and pack a 6000 lumen punch for a reasonable price.

When we decide to go with aftermarket under water lighting, we'll probably use the one that replaces the drain plug. Don't have to cut holes.
There's a thread here somewhere with pics and final results were great.
