Re: Navigation Instrumentation
I ordered my network cable, terminators, tees and power from Garmin because I had a Garmin MFD. I installed a Yacht Devices YDEG-04 engine gateway for my Volvo Penta engine that allowed me to connect the engine data to the network and then displayed on the Garmin 742xs MFD. Whether your Mercrusier ...

Re: XM satellite weather review
I subscribe to the Sirius XM Weather Service and really enjoy having radar information displayed over my navigation charts displayed on my Garmin MFD. I installed the Garmin GXM 53 Weather Satellite / XM Radio Receiver / Antenna to receive the weather data and the Sirius XM radio signal. If ...

Re: Running on 1 battery VS 2?
I ordered the light from West Marine. It is a Blue Sea Systems LED Indicator light, Model #343725, Mfg #8033. Cost was $3.99. Don’t have a picture of my installed light, but you can see it on the West Marine online site.

Re: Running on 1 battery VS 2?
I have a small light mounted just to the right of the ignition switch. Reassuring to see the normal charge light from time to time. Although I haven’t had a voltage caused lockout from the ACR, it’s also reassuring to know I will see the flashing light sequence that will tell me something is wrong ...

Re: Gel Coat Revitalization
I have used Meguiar’s Fiberglass Restoration system with great results. It’s a three step process, a lot of work, but it works.

Re: Navigation Instrumentation
I installed a NEMA 2000 network in my 2008 242. The engine gateway I installed was the Yacht Devices, YDEG-04 (https://yachtdevicesus.com). Be sure to order from the USA distributor for faster delivery. Engine information is transmitted over the network to my GPSMAP 742xs (picture attached). I can ...
