Re: Vinyl Tear Repair

Thank you for the recommendation. I didn't see a Dr Vinyl location in Washington, but found a company called fibrenew that looks similar so contacted them for a quote.

Vinyl Tear Repair

I was cleaning my 242 yesterday in prep for the 4th and noticed a small tear in the vinyl on the side of the sun pad where the tow pole attaches. Since it is on the side, it isn't too noticeable, but I would like to repair it to prevent further ripping.

I have looked at some repair kits online ...

Re: Compare 242 and 262

I signed the papers today for the 242. It was in much better condition than the 262, and most importantly available now. Hope to take possession in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all of the info and help in the comparisons!

Re: Compare 242 and 262

Thank so much for all of the great thoughts. The 262 definitely drove well and I too noticed the reduced bow room between the 242 and the 262. I have a test drive scheduled for the 242 in a few days, so I will get to have a real comparison. That 272 in the Craigslist ad is a great looking boat. I ...

Compare 242 and 262

I have some updated info on my 2004 262 purchase that I shared in the new member intro area. The seller's new R8 surf is delayed, so I am not able to take delivery until possibly May. I just looked at a 2008 242 that was in great condition from the same dealer. It had many upgraded options, sink ...

Re: New Member in Seattle Area

Thanks so much! Glad to hear the creaking is common, as it was the only concerning item I noticed. The seating will need a few spots repaired, but everything mechanically was great. Hopefully I will be able to share the close of the sale and more info when out on the water!

New Member in Seattle Area

I am new to the forum and happy to find such an active place. I have a deposit down on a 2004 262 from a local dealer. Currently planning to close the deal and pick up in March if the current owner's new R8 comes in. This will be my first boat. It drove very well during sea trial and has 379 hours ...
