I have transom speakers on my ‘07 232. I’ll be near the boat tomorrow and will snap some pics.

Re: DPS-A shifting issue
It was more than hard shifting... there was no shifting. I did not check the fluid level as I took it straight back to the marina. Per the invoice Mercury HP gear oil is what was installed.

Re: DPS-A shifting issue
Marina called back today. Clutch needs to be replaced. They’re saying the fluid didn’t cause this. I disagreed as what they put in it doesn’t meet Volvo spec. I also told them they had it all apart, this wasn’t noted as damaged/worn and this was the first run after repair. The boat has right around ...

DPS-A shifting issue
Last year when I was changing the fluid in my drive water was present. I took it to the marina to have the seals replaced and flushed. While it was there, they found the splined sleeve was damaged so replaced it as well as the gimbal bearing.

Re: Applying emblem letters
Any advice for removing the double sided tape on the old letters? I’m going to try and reuse the crest and C within it as they’re still in good shape. I assume regular 3M moulding tape is what is used to re-adhere.

Re: Applying emblem letters
I did this last summer.
Keep in mind I own a body shop so this isn’t something I’m unfamiliar with and I have all these products on hand.
Clean any adhesive with 3m adhesive remover.
Apply adhesion promoter to the back of the letters (optional) then apply 3m double sided tape.
Polish the ...

Applying emblem letters
Does anyone have any tips on reapplying the COBALT lettering on the sides? I’m about to remove mine to polish underneath and install all new letters. I’m worried about spacing and getting them straight. Also, wax underneath before reapplying? I wouldn’t think the letters would stick well if this was ...

Re: Best trailer brands
I have a Rolco. It’s one of, if not the best trailer I’ve ever had. It’s overbuilt, tows well, still looks good especially for a 12 year old trailer. Zero complaints here. I’ll take some pics and post them in a bit.

Re: Installing Power Steering Pump & Pulley - VP 8.1
I fished around in there with a hanger and a magnet. Not being able to get my head in there was a disadvantage. I don’t know how it got in there so deep!

Re: Installing Power Steering Pump & Pulley - VP 8.1
Thanks everyone for your help. I got the pump out and taken to NAPA. They were able to find the correct pump and I swapped my reservoir on it. I’ll post the part number when I’m near the box again. The pump itself was the same for a GM 6.0 and an 8.1.

Re: Installing Power Steering Pump & Pulley - VP 8.1
Just put a kit in it and you'll be fine. $50 bucks at NAPA for a bearing and seal. Easy Peasy.
Or.. order a pump online for $300 to $400. I just went through this last summer.
That’s what I was thinking. Any advice on the pulley? Just bottom the tool out, or is it going to require some ...

The VP power steering pump part number is 3884974 which is the same as 3860871. The belt number is 21132390 which is the same as 3889126.
