Re: Close to record low temps Tuesday

If it will just be below freezing for a few hours I wouldn’t worry much. If you are worried about it hang a trouble light with a 100+ watt incandescent light bulb in the engine bay and that will produce enough heat to keep the engine warm for a few hours.

I couldn’t find anything to hang the ...

Close to record low temps Tuesday

We have a predicted low of 27 Tuesday night. Should I be worried? Thought about having a friend come over and do a little winterization. The few places I’ve read said I should be fine since it’s only one night. It might not be even get that low.

Finally arrived

First, day out was a breeze. The boat was easy to handle and easy to unload and load onto the trailer. I have a slip at a marina but hauling would be no problem. EXTREMELY, glad I didn’t find an R5 and went with the R7. I couldn’t see myself in anything smaller. In fact, I should have taken my old ...

What size bunks for R7?

Getting my legit squared away and trying to get my bunks replaced with the correct size before the boat gets here. Anybody with an R7 know the size of their bunks on their lift?

Re: How many fenders for an R7?

Actually about 10 per side should do it and leave them on while cruising! then someday you will appear on a meme from the Qualified Captain!

Im sure I will get some laughs on the lake by others. Most people these days are tone deaf and color blind. Exactly, why try and avoid ...

Then 4 will be more then enough.
Even with just 2 on each side pulling into a slip?

Tuscany wrote: Sat Apr 03, 2021 11:52 am I use 12” x 35” fenders. No issues with touching. Obviously this pic isn’t pulled tight to the dock.

I ordered four 11 x 30”s just from reading your past posts! Lol....

Will 2 fenders in each side be sufficient for pulling into a slip at the lake?

Re: Is an R7 to big for a first boat?

Again, just because you can hitch up 8k and tow down the road in an 89’Ranger doesn’t mean all is good..
Speed limits are usually speed minimums, and without the proper set up, one relinquishes control and safety in all situations.

Most important are brakes. It’s about controlling your ...

Re: Is an R7 to big for a first boat?

Towing is the only issue. I agree that it’s more about the road handling, than water handling..

In the water.
IMO, the last thing the R7 is, is a big boat. It’s a size that’s obviously bigger than a 19’ boat, but in reality, it’s only a 25’ boat, with a standard beam, and a swim platform figuring ...

All numbers confuse me and I’m not 100% sure I’m doing the math right but the conclusion I’ve came to is the truck can do it but won’t like it.
