Re: Garmin Display Dead
Update on display easy and no cost fix. After getting wiring diagram from Cobalt and looking at them it showed a circuit breaker panel that I was unaware of located in front of the helm in the swing up sea storage very well tucked behind the fender storage. Inspected area and found the cover to the ...

Re: Garmin Display Dead
Thank You for responses, Does anyone have a wiring diagram for an 2018 R7 or direct me to a source ? I have all user manuals from the original purchase of our boat but no electrical diagrams. Went on Cobalt support and just saw user manuals I have.

Garmin Display Dead
2018 R7 Out on boat today and display on both screens are blank. Looking into it found no power to each screen. I was able to grab 12 Vdc from under dash and feed power to Garmin and they displayed properly. I thought I have seen something on this forum as to a relay being a possible cause ?

Re: Blown fuse?
Check and see if you are able to that the float in the pump is not stuck with any debris. If it runs manually with the button doesn’t sound like a blown fuse

Re: Captain’s Call Exhaust question
Yes all the wiring is intact for the captains call even if the boat was not installed with CC from the factory. Ordered our R7 and visited the factory and that was one of the many of our questions that were answered.

Re: 2024 R8 - Security/Theft
Are you talking about the lanyard that is the kill switch attached to the throttle assembly ? I don’t have outboards on my R7 and may be different on your boat but on our boat the engine will die if it’s pulled out as it should if you fall overboard. However you are able to restart your engine but ...

I agree with you so far as preferring the odd R series than the new R’s. So I guess we are in the minority.

Re: Electric (power) Trailer Tongue Jack
Don’t have a power jack on my trailer but I do have a power winch to pull our boat back on the trailer. I was told that the winch I have draws to much for the 7 way plug, your jack probably draws less than a winch and would check to see what it’s rated on your vehicle. I actually ran cables from the ...

Re: R5 Swim step
Unfortunately you are going to pay more for the sea deck than the swim step if you buy from Cobalt. They only sell the sea deck in complete sets. We have an R7 and it was over 900.00 you may be able to get it from an outside source at a little more reasonable cost.

Re: Winter storage and keeping boat on trailer
I have stored our boat on the trailer for the winter since new without any issues. We have it wintered every year and shrink wrapped. I wish I had a garage to store it in you are lucky. The only addition thing I do is jack the trailer up and put on stands and remove the four tires and get stored in ...

Re: R5 Swim step
From the looks of that it appears that any fiber glass shop should be capable of making a permanent repair. I have had a repair done on my R7 swim platform on the edge. They are also available to be purchased thru a Cobalt dealer for around $ 350.00

Re: 2019 R3 - 20 second Beep Alarm?
The boat will start because if the person is overboard you want the remaining people on board to start engine and be able to rescue person overboard.
