As I am sure most of you have already seen from my posts but just a hair over 2 weeks before I finally take delivery on my boat! I am beyond excited.

But the other day I got some other life changing news. I have officially accepted a new job and have put in my resignation at my current job as of late last week. I will be in IT still just moving over to the architecture side. As I have accepted a Collaboration Solutions Architect position at another solutions provider that is based here in the St. Louis area. Unfortunately with this being more of a customer facing role I will be trading in my work from home gig but will be traveling a lot less. So I guess it is a win win. Either way I am beyond excited and already looking at toys to go with my bump in salary

Congrats tgrace! Lol....when i was reading i was expecting a baby announcement or something. Anyway congrats again! Sounds like a good move. More pay is always nice. This lifestyle isnt cheap!

No baby announcements here. The wife and I did things backwards and instead of having a baby after getting married we bought a lake house and a boat.

And you are right this lifestyle isn’t cheap! I’m sure you have heard of the company I’m moving to. It’s World Wide Technology, I previously worked for them for almost 10 years. So it will be fimaliar territory for me.

And Matt already on top of that. Instead of working today I booked a trip for me and the wife to Vegas in October to see Jimmy Buffett

My neighbor across the street works there. Name is Joe Weber. Its a huge company so likely not ever even hear his name but just in case. The only thing i find sad about this is no working from the condo....

Congrats. I know the feeling all too well and I don't regret any of it.

Can’t say I’ve heard the name. Does he work at HQ or their big logistics space in edwardsville?

Well YT I had this elaborate plan in my head that I would pretty much live at TRL this summer. My wife is a school teacher so has summers off and at my current job I can work from home most days but I do travel quite a bit. So my plan was anytime I was to work from home I would work down there. Although I tried this on presidents day by sitting at my kitchen table at the lake condo but it just resulted in me staring out the window at the lake all day instead of actually getting any work done. So who knows how much we would of actually done this.

We are 100% keeping the lake condo. In fact even mentioning the words sell the lake house and the wife about cries. We just purchased it back in October 2017 and I still plan to spend pretty much every other weekend if not most weekends down there. We don't have any kids so we can pretty much go down whenever we want. Also since I worked at the company I am going to in the past they started my years of service clock where I left off. So I get 5 weeks of vacation per year right off the bat. So I will be using a lot of vacation time during the summer to enjoy TRL

As far as new toys my wife needs a new Lake Taxi as we call it so I am sure we will be SUV shopping as soon as she gets out of school. She really likes the new GMC Arcadia's so I am sure I will be looking at those soon. We won't ever be towing the boat around so just worried about how it drives and storage.

It is funny I haven't even taken delivery on my 262 yet but I was star struck by a "blue Angel" R7 that the harbor just got in. I'm sure its a 2018 and is way out of my price range but man she was pretty. If only I could talk the wife into it Maybe in 10 years when they are in my price range.

PS: The wife and I had lunch Saturday at the floating cafe on Indian point where you will be keeping your boat in June. I scoped out the docks for you and they are pretty nice. I'm just on the other side of the point from there so real close. I barely hit the throttle and I am at the gas dock there.

I already have #5 slip reserved at the restaurant and we'll be staying at Golden Cabins or something llke. Its just a skip down to the dock, and we dont plan on spending much time in the room at all.

Be careful looking at other boats. It's a sickness...

When I was racing dirtbikes I'd get one, have it tricked out and dialed in and see another one I'd have to have. The same thing kinda happened with me on this last boat deal. I had my 240 all done up the way I wanted and A7 comes along and screwed everything up!. But at least my 262 is paid for, and my wife informed me we're going to keep this one a while.
