Warranty - NEW Captains Seat R4 BUT They Forgot Headrest

Hey All,

I had some stitching coming off my my drivers captain seat. I contacted my local (not so local) dealer and Cobalt agreed to replace the seat with a new one. GREAT.

The boat was the dealer (2 hrs away) for its annual service and for them to do the seat.

I picked up the boat this morning and drove it to the lake about 2 hours away. I didn't uncover and look (I should have) but when I got the boat to the lake uncovered it...I quickly saw that the seat looked different. It's missing the whole headrest and bar part. I'm not sure if they were supposed to take it off my other seat and install it or what. I am shocked / not shocked that they could miss something so obvious.

So my questions:

- I'm trying to avoid driving the boat all the way back. I'm not sure if they will come to me which they should...but...

Option 1 - Do I take the whole seat off and take it back to them to fix vs. town the whole boat. If I do that, what's the best way to do it? Assuming the 5-6 screws at base where it meets the boat?

OPtion 2 - Do I get the parts from them and install it myself or have my mechanic up at the lake do it? I'm pretty handy but I can't tell how it attaches? Assuming screws have to go through the vinyl?

Please let me know your thoughts and if anybody can look at theirs and see how the headrest and bar attach that would be fantastic.

Images attached.

In today's world, this has come to be what is expected, no matter who you are dealing with.

It's the Malibu influence (on Cobalt quality) and an incompetent dealer added in. What did the dealer say when you told them?

Taking the seat off is easy, I would 100% just take the seat back to the dealer. It is as simple as taking out around 6 screws on the bottom.
I can't believe the dealer made the replacement without noticing there wasn't a head rest!
