Replacing batteries with dual AGM
Replacing batteries with dual AGM
Spring launch is here and considering replacing my 5 year old batteries. Currently have dual interstate 24M-XHD batteries with the ACR that came standard with my 2015 R5. Thinking of replacing both with new AGM batteries, Interstate 24M-AGM. Are there any concerns with this option? Also does anyone use or have thoughts on applying Permatex Dielectric Grease on new battery terminals? Thank you.

Re: Replacing batteries with dual AGM
Lots of people have used various AGM batteries, and they perform well - see here for another thread on battery choices - viewtopic.php?t=9170
I haven't used dielectric grease on battery terminals, but don't see much harm if you have corrosion issues. I do have a battery terminal brush, and clamp the battery terminals on snugly and have never had issues.

When using dielectric grease, first assemble and tighten the connection dry (metal to metal). Then apply a light coat over the connection.
