2005 246 8.1 Gi serpentine belt replacement

Less than two hundred hours on this boat, first serpentine belt replacement. Q: i'm guessing this pumps lake water, will it need to be primed before I start the motor? Also, does this black bracket have only those 2 bolts? Thank you for reading, and thank you for any guidance you can offer.

No need to prime the raw water pump. Change the serpentine belt and fire her up.

the bracket only keep the pump from turning on its shaft.
