Recommendations needed on boat covers

Post by felixmoore »

I just purchased a 2016 R5. What do you all recommend as the best cover as far as protection, ease of installation and must be trailerable

I bought one of the Cobalt OEM mooring covers, and would probably try to find a direct replacement if something went wrong with mine. Most Cobalt dealers should be able to get one for you, either from Cobalt or via Commercial Sewing (they don't sell direct to consumers), the company that made most of Cobalt's various boat covers. See https://commercialsewing.com/mooring-covers/

RNR Marine made OEM boat covers for some Cobalts made before yours, and is also a popular source - check out https://rnr-marine.com/Cobalt.shtml

There are plenty of decent quality aftermarket options too, and I'm sure others will chime in with their experiences.

Echo the Cobalt mooring cover recommendation. The ratchet strap tightening mechanism makes it simple! They don't recommend trailering with it but I have done it for 4 years with no issues.
