I was wondering why Cobalt only has one model (A29) in the A Series?
Are they going to make more models or discounted the line?
Thanks

Ha! I think their boats focused toward the watersports end of the market (R series) is selling more boats than the luxury series (A series) over the last decade, and they're shifting focus to where their buyers are.

I had seen a few post from people saying they were having issues with the A29s. Am seeing some reasonably priced used ones but the posts make me nervous!
Thanks

You're mainly going to hear about the ones with problems if you look for what people post on forums, but it makes sense to see what kind of problems people are having and how Cobalt (or the dealer) is resolving them.

Makes sense, good advice. I am looking at used boats and would love to find a nice cobalt. Have you heard of any quality issues from boats manufactured in 2020/2021 during Covid? Thanks again!

I haven't heard of Covid being a factor, but quality may be a notch down from what it was a decade ago before the company was bought out by Malibu. Lots of others have posted opinions or observations on here too - best to read through them a bit but take each individual one with a grain of salt.

There have been several posts here where people have complained about Cobalt boats that were built during the Covid period. Cheap bolts rusting that were supposed to be stainless steel, and other supply chain issues, like everything else.

I would be more concerned /w overall performance over build quality. Lot of folks question cobalt's choice to put a single engine in a heavy 29 foot boat. I cant back this up, but I think you are seeing a lot for sale because people dont like going 25mph across the lake. Even with the 430hp volvo thats a lot of boat for a single engine to push around.
R30 with Twins is a lot more attractive, however in most cases a more expensive option.
