Snap on Cover - tips/tricks?

Post by Tandjmei8 »

2020 Cobalt R5 - Any tips on how to easily put on the snap covers while the boat is on a trailer? The spot where the bow and cockpit meet at the window seems like gymnastics to try to get the snaps snapped and the Velcro overlapping. I don’t use it much, but am considering ordering the mooring cover for when I do.

I do mine from inside the boat. Snap on the bow cover - can get the whole thing snapped on with the windshield walkthru open. Then start on the cockpit cover - I don't have a trick, trying to reach over the windshield and snap on the cockpit cover with the velcro is a PIA. When taking my cockpit cover off, I start at the stern and roll it up - then when putting back on start at the windshield and roll it back out. Being in dry storage I put my covers on/off every time I use the boat.

Thanks - I’ll play around a little more with it, but may order the full cover for the times I need it.

I don't separate the bow cover from the cockpit cover. when i remove i roll it from stern to bow. That seems to work for me.

I don't think the mooring cover will be any easier but it will keep the gunnel portion above the rub rail clean.
