Depth Finder flashing zero

I have a 2009 Cobalt 296. It has a depth finder that was part of the original build. Lately it has been flashing zeros on the depth finder gauge. It worked most of the time last summer but doesn't seem to work this year. I have no idea where it is and if it a simple cleaning issue or if something needs to be replaced. Open to ideas. Thanks!

So glad you found us bkj.....and sorry to hear about your depth finder woes.

We solved the flashing by topping up the transducer with the blue anti freeze used to winterize. It's about the size and shape of a hockey puck glued to the bottom of your hull. Unscrew the top and fill'er up. You can search my depth finder posts early on. I believe I have a pic or two.

And welcome aboard mate.

Unfortunately mine doesn’t have a puck on it. This is what it looks like.

The Airmar transducer is located under the engine on the hull. Just twist the jar-like top off and you can top it off with the pink RV antifreeze as well.
