Need to service a bilge float. Can I unscrew the panel it's mounted to?

I have a float that gets stuck up, so want to remove it and investigate what's going on. But access to it is a real chore. Can I unbolt the two screws that hold the black plate that attaches to the hull, to get the float and pump out to a side? Or are those screws a real pain and meant to be a one time only install into the hull? See pic. The two screws are in the front of the pic.

Alternately does anyone know a trick to take off the Rule float easy? I know the bilge pumps lift out of the cartridge, but not sure if there is a trick to get the main body of the float off.

.
You can definitely get those screws out and slide the entire assembly platform out. It’s actually easier that way. Use a right angled screw driver.

yep. This is what I ended up doing. I used a micro bit ratchet and it worked well. Got the float replaced and spliced into the factory harness in about an hours time. Here's to hoping I do not need to do that again any time soon.
