Hi All,
Bought my first boat last week.(have been boating for years but never had my own, coming off my dads 1991 21' Regal). It was nerve-wracking as I live in eastern PA and the boat was out in wisconsin, so purchased without actually seeing it in person. She has pretty much every option but the damn arch... dual garmins, volvo 430hp engine, all chain windlass, interior and under water LEDs, upgraded stereo, electric porcelain head with sink, electric engine cover, even the obnoxiously expensive throw pillows... like I said everything but the arch. I am determined to add with a stock samson arch at some point. Boat had a total of 12. 4 hours and was stored and maintained by the cobalt dealer... no expense spared, literally looks brand new! I love the snow/winter and snow skiing but since the boat was delivered this week all I want is for spring to arrive! Any thing I should know about the R7? Thanks and looking forward to boating with you all on here!

Awesome!
Surprised you did not opt for Captain's call with that big block V8. Thoughts?

Welcome. Nice find. I like the idea of getting a pre-covid boat.

Beautiful! Like the classic blue/red. Personally I prefer the bimini, especially the way Cobalt does it. You are going to love that boat - I have had a few boats and my R5 is hands down my favorite.

We have a 2018 R7 and the family love loves it. We have created many memories on it and I’m sure you will do the same. Boat handles unbelievably !

Still a small block A7, and the 6.2 doesn't make that 8.2L music with the CC.

Yep...I would never bother with CC on a small block engine.

My only regret.
Yes, the 6.2L is a superior engine for the boat. Yes, it's more efficient, lighter, quicker, faster, EZ drain, everything we should want, except it is a small block with that high revving tinny sound.. I hate it.
In a do-over, I go with the old school 8.2L.

Afraid that just like with cars, the days of the big V8 engines are numbered. Hate to think the next generation motors in boats will be turbocharged 4 and V6's.

I would have zero problem with that. Love the power my 3.5L ecoboost in my Ford truck has. More than many of these small V8s and peak torque at much lower RPMs.
