R6 bow filler cushion

We have a 2022 R6 and would like to add a bow filler cushion in front of the starboard seat but leave out the center cushion (example attached from picture I found online). Does anyone know if the single cushion would be supported so it wouldn't sag when sitting on it without being connected to the center cushion? Or would a special support bracket be required?

On our R8 it's been very solid with out the center cushion. I wouldn't worry about it.

Great idea. How do you purchase the cushion? From a dealer or directly from Cobalt?

Through your dealer. Unfortunately you have to purchase the full set even if you only want to use the side cushion. But at least if you ever decide to use the center cushion you'll have it.

You mean the new ones don’t come with the starboard side front seat filler? My R5 looks just like the picture, the starboard side middle cushion is hinged so it just folds back into the storage area below the seat.

That’s a big screwup on Cobalt! One more thing to blame on Malibu. Who wants to relax without being able to out their legs up and recline? Or al least have the option too. I guess I’ll just have to keep my old R5! :D

Personally I think it's dumb that they have that little cutaway in the bow. It's always bugged me that the bow seating isn't symmetrical, even if you have the cushion in place it still would look better if both sides match and it would give more storage as well.

I don't mind having the filler cushion, versus the symmetrical cushions. It allows easy access to a beach bag and / or flip-flops, without having to ask someone to move and open a compartment. But, l wish the starboard filler cushion was included as a standard item. I don't need the center filler cushion.

Agreed. I'd love to have that place for our bag that we keep stuff in.

I sat in the bow of an R6 and the problem with the starboard seat was the lack of foot space forward of the seat. I'm sure the R8 doesn't have that problem. But, I agree with others, there should be a fold in/out extension for that bow seat position. Having to purchase the full cushion set isn't ideal. We'd never use the centre one and it's just another thing to have to find storage space for.

I think the bows of the R6 & R8 are the same. You gain the extra space aft of the captain's chair.

I agree with all above. I don't have a use for the entire filler cushion option for our R6, but it would be nice to put a filler in the footwell of the starboard seating area. Wish they would give you an option for it - but in reality, if you buy a boat at this price point, shouldn't it be included? I would like to know why the engineers designed it that way for this iteration but the odd numbered R's have wrap around seating.
