Have a Volvo Penta in my 242 wss that suddenly started leaking oil from the dipstick to oil pan connection, before I try to just wrench it down more has anyone experienced this issue and can it be tighted?

Never delt with this specific problem. But, that looks like a standard brass compression fitting same that's used in a lot of situations where a tube is connected - trim pumps, fuel lines etc. You SHOULD be able to tighten it, but I would actually loosen it completely, make sure everything is clean, no cracks or splits in the tube and then put it all back together. Problem here is you have the oil to contend with -- maybe tackle this at oil change time cause either way you need to get all the oil out or you will end up with a real mess in the bilge.

I would just try to turn it some and see if that takes care of it for now. Then as billk2632 suggested, when you change the oil, take it all apart and inspect it.
