We thought it would be fun to start a basketball thread here... We are a special house divided... Jeff a Kansas Jayhawks fan (I do love things from Kansas lol) and me a Kentucky Wildcat...

But if anyone follows college basketball you know the FBI turned things upside down with their ongoing investigations and the mess that is going on at Louisville has our attention here locally. We think all programs should be nervous about being the next one on the list as the whole college basketball scene is dirty.

We just watched "At all Costs" on nextflix tonight... It gives a very interesting look into the AAU world. Hoping our two teams come out clean but we are always ready for basketball season to roll around. Anyone else?

I have a buddy from my other forum that went to UK so I naturally cheer against them and give him crap all the time. So I'm glad I have another one to pick on.
He's a pharmacist so he must be on drugs:-)

I watched a game once - looks a lot like hockey for people who never learned to skate.

Jeff & Katie, we totally bleed blue. We have been season ticket holders in basketball since Rupp arena opened, about 42 years. We' also have season tickets in football. Before that, I went to games at old Memorial coliseum when I was in school at U of K.

We are also watching the FBI investigation closely. I am not a U of L fan at all but feel sorry for anybody going through this mess. It sounds like other schools will be involved and it's already affecting recruiting. I'm sorry Pitino is ending his career like this.

When I was a senior in high school in Memphis, TN, our basketball coach took us all down to Ole Miss to see them play Kentucky. It was as much to see Johnny Newman of Ole Miss (from Memphis) as anything. Newman didn't play.
Kentucky killed Ole Miss. Dan Issel scored 44 points, a record of some kind at the time. I don't remember if it was a Kentucky record, or Thad Pad record....a lot of his points were because he was jogging up court, and the Kentucky defense was so dominate, they'd steal the ball and he hadn't even made it to half court yet. Easy pickings.
Years later, I got to watch him regularly when I was a ski bum and he starred for the Nuggets.
Also, I've talked with John Calapari on numerous occasions when he was Memphis coach.....not at liberty to say why, but some people here know what I do for a living.
