Boat. We were very fortunate to find a local owner with a pristine 242 with a little over 100 hours on it.

Thank you for the warm welcome and nice comments everyone. Yes, we are very fortunate to find this gem in our backyard. It's even nicer to meet new friends and start a boating relationship with another family with a lot in common (family hobby wise) with a child the same age as our children. The previous owner has a young son that is getting more into Wake board/surfing. They built and purchased a Moomba boat for this season.
Yes, it was so crazy to find an older boat (The one that we had been dreaming of for years) with such low hours. I have researched and have been warned by experienced boat owners to be wary of older boats or engines with such few hours or lack of use. A boat and engine used only a few times and then parked for years can
be a recipe for a mechanical disaster. However, this one has been used sparsely every season and meticulously maintained. We are excited and can't wait to get out on the water as soon as it warms up.

Up in the north it is normal to only get 20-40 engine hours on a boat in one season. My R5 has been covered and sitting in my shed since the end of October! That is the norm for us! Some years if we get a cold spring we haven’t used it until the 4th of July! Sometimes I ask myself why I own a boat! Then I ask why I still live up here. I haven’t come up with an answer for either question!

On another note. Please do us Cobalt freaks a favor and change out these MasterCraft guide covers!

Holy smokes! That must be real cold weather! I'm not sure my mental health could stand being off the water and in such cold weather for such a long period... Believe it or not, I actually prefer cold weather over the daily 100+ summers that we get from time to time over here. As far as the MC "guide covers" go, I am working on it.... I just haven't found any nice ones yet. Any ideas who or where I can get some nice Cobalt Boats or some with American flags? Thanks!

I think this winter we have had about 25 mornings below zero and a few days where the high temp stays in the negatives. This morning it was a balmy 1 degree. I met a friend for breakfast yesterday morning and the sun was out when we walked out of the restaurant, when we walked out to our trucks I said to him “wow it sure feels nice out this morning!” When I started the truck it said it was -3... Only a true Minnesotan thinks -3 is warm!

Amazon will have plain black ones, possibly American flags but probably not with the Cobalt logo.

Call the trailer companies like EzLoader, loadmaster and so on. They will have a connection for you on the cheater pole covers!
Yes my boat is a 2003 with under 320 hrs on her. Used every year.
Yea Frosty this year is getting old two quick. Yes we are nuts when you think 0 is warm but that's a true statement you made. I'll take a few 100 degree days over 4 Months of zero!

Congrats and great looking boat!!! I actually purchased mine Feb 3rd ten years ago and got it out on the water on the 15th. Where do you plan on using it mostly? Looks like Medina will be pretty useless this year unless we have a real wet spring. Canyon is great, but it can get really busy on the weekends and it will be worse this summer if Medina stays low. Anyway, hope you get out soon.
