2003 Cobalt 240.

While removing the steering wheel I found this under the dash.

No clue what it does. Any idea?

Guessing.... guage light dimmer switch replacement? Turn on your guage lights, then
turn the knob back and forth to see if the lights dim and brighten.

I'm assuming something to do with the stereo. Rockford Fosgate emblem on it.

Do you have a subwoofer? It has the Rockford Fosgate logo on it so I would guess its a level or output control for the sub. Turn the radio on and adjust it up and down to see what happens.

You guys are on it, that’s a remote gain control for the subwoofer amp. Be cautious running it wide open!

It's Prob not the gain control as that's on the amp. It's prob like a volume control for it.

Certainly could be mistaken, but looks a lot like the punch control remote gain knobs that come with RF amps.

Sadly I have replaced a couple “blown” subs back in my hell raising days, all in good fun though!
