Battery Power On When Perko if Off

Curious if anyone else has this issue. When my dual battery Perko switch is off, I still have, ignition key out, power at the helm for bilge blower, radio, running lights, interior lights and the Acc switch. Have checked the Perko for current draw and meter shows no battery drain when in Off position. Yet all these things still then work. 2016 232 with 300hp Volvo.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Hey JG. So glad you found us!

Your switch has either malfunctioned or more likely it’s wired incorrectly. All those accessories should not have power when the switch is off. Normally only the automatic bilge pump is wired to the battery hot. I’d check your PERKO switch and bus wiring connections.

Any pics?

And welcome aboard mate!

I did check the Perko with a meter, and it showed no power through the Perko; just to be certain, I replaced it anyway, with a new Perko dual battery switch. Same problem, Meter shows no power through the Perko, but all my helm electrics still work as if power were "on".

It's almost as if the bilge pump float switch may be back feeding through the bilge pump switch at the dash. This could happen if the float switch was in the on position and the bilge pump at the dash is on or it is feeding through the light for the bilge pump switch.

To test this theory, disconnect the wires from the bilge pump switch at the dash and see if the dash still has power.
