I have a 2010 232 with navy color sides. Having trouble getting a good gel coat match.

Cobalt gave me the spectrum # 6044.

Any one else have color match problems and solutions. ?

Thanks

Ed

Solution. Take it to a professional. I say that because I own a body shop and paint all the cars.

There is no such thing as a perfect match. Given enough room I can trick your eye into thinking it matches. Someone that does this for a living will know how far he has to go to achieve a good blend.

The west marine kit I bought matched my white very well. I’m sure I just got lucky. Not being a gel coat guy, I didn’t sand my repair area down enough to allow the gel to cover the repair. If you look close you can see my fiberglass underneath. No one but me notices but it drives me nuts when I look at it πŸ˜€

Good place to start. Check out https://spectrumcolor-com.3dcartstores. ... p_152.html for their β€œtouch up” size.

Thanks for the reply. I am working with a pro and he has been having trouble with the match. I was verifying color codes. Speaking to cobalt, they said the navy blue and black colors are hardest to match

I did a 2007 222 navy blue with spectrum and it was dead on.

Should have looked at Cobalt chat before I bought Evercoat 100668 repair kit. I'll try their navy blue and likely add black if needed.
