Got my new CS23!

First time Cobalt owner. Previous boat (my first) was a 1991 Rinker runabout. After 5 years, was ready to get something nice.
After extensive research, settled on the Cobalt brand and the CS23. I like the sportier smaller boats, and trailer a lot, so the size seemed right verses the R series.
Well, ordered 10 months ago, and it finally arrived. Have to say, it is a beautiful boat. Cannot believe craftsmanship and details on this thing. Even though it's the same length as the Rinker, it looks and feels bigger parked side by side. Bigger hull, more room inside. Haven't even gotten on the water with her yet, but so far, SUPER impressed.
I know I will have lots of questions about certain features.

I like the colors. I find it to be very nimble boat. We do the same with trailering and I find this boat is very easy to tow. I will say the trailer helps out in that dept too. Oh and I see we have the same trailer - so it will be a dream.
I have a question, how tall is it with the tower folded down? Wife wanted one in the worst way but if I couldn't fit it under our 8' door I would had to buy a storage unit.

Yep, too tall for that garage in the picture. Sadly. Even folded down it won't fit. I will be looking for a storage facility. Thinking about buying small lot nearby and building one for it.

Great looking boat! You'll love the way she handles on the water and towing and launching is a breeze. Have fun!

We trailer to lots of different lakes. Fox Chain, IL, Lake Clinton, IL, Lake Ozarks, MO, Lake Koshkonong, WI.
So, mostly sandy/muddy bottoms? I'm sure each lake is a bit different. Is there a universal style anchor? And I am guessing two anchors is a good idea?

Look at a Fortress FX7 anchor with at least 6-10β of chain. They are slightly expensive but so worth it because they are so light and they hold extremely well. I think it weighs 4 pounds, but you will need a section of anchor chain. I have one for our R5 and it holds just fine even in high winds with a couple boat tied up to us. Plan on getting a long anchor rope also. Depending on the depth of water you anchor in plan on getting plenty of anchor rope, I have 100β now but I rarely anchor in more than 10β-15β of water so that works fine for shallow water. I let most of my line out if itβs windy and I know other boats will be tied up to ours. The best slope for most anchors is around a 7:1 on an anchor line so plan accordingly.

Besides a Fortress there is also a Richter anchor that works really well and a box if you have a rocky bottom. We just have a cheap 25lbs anchor for our muddy/sand bottom lake. We also anchor down in a no-wake cove with lots of wind protection most of the time, so the need for a good anchor is low, well until we come to TRL then I see how much ours lacks.

Great looking boat.
You should be able to get any info you need here (and some you don't need).
Enjoy.
