So i am upgrading my 2006 Cobalt 200 to a 2021 R5 with a 350 VP in it. I had the opportunity to purchase one of the last brand new R5's in the country and decided to send it. I went through the whole boat today with the sales team who did a great job. there are a ton of different features and with the electronics in the dash it will certainly make navigating easier. Does anyone have any cool tips or tricks about the nuances of an R5 that might otherwise be overlooked in the purchasing process? but in general I feel like a kid on Christmas morning and had to share with a few folks who love cobalts as much as i do that i upgraded! (Lake Winnipesaukee Boater here btw)

Welcome and congratulations on your new purchase.
We opened our 2019 R3 last weekend, and I could still smell the "new". Loved it.
I'm sure others will be giving advice soon. I'm sure you'll be glad you didn't get the 300. Every time I see a good price on an R5, it's because it is a 300.
With our boating lifestyle, I'm glad we got a odd numbered R before they quit making them.

Congrats! Did you trade in the 200 or sell it out right for a fortune?
Nice upgrade.

Still working out the kinks of trailer loading and unloading. The windlass and bow stop have been giving us fits. Dealer says this boat needs to be power loaded/unloaded. Our last boat I had it mastered with no power drama. Would be interested in your experience. I also recommend verifying the "winterize" button on these new Volvo's is in the right position if the boat has been anywhere to be worked on. Don't ask me how I know!

Great boat and great motor. Hurry about summer weather!!

Nice colors and she looks pretty well optioned out! I'm sure you and your family will enjoy it for years to come. I'm now on my 3rd season with my R7 and we love it just as much as the day we took delivery.
