2000 206 Swim Platform Install

I finally got my swim platform (swimplatforms.com) installed this week. I ordered it at the end of last season and it's been sitting on the floor of my garage for months. I think it turned out great though and I'll post an update after I try it out this weekend on the water. This is the only platform I've seen from them that has metal brackets that are used to mount the platform to the boat. The instructions failed to mention that the brackets would need to be bent to fit, but the nice people at swimplatforms.com did explain it to me on the phone when I called to ask about a few other questions I had. I think the instructions could have been better, but the hardest part was that I don't keep this boat at my house and I had to get down to the marina several times to get the job done.

Looks great. Where did you have to bend them?

The platform came with 4 metal brackets and each was pre-bent to a slightly less than 90 degree angle. I had to bend each of them maybe 10 or 20 degrees more so the bracket fit correctly to the shape of the boat. I took my bench vice and bolted it up to a big piece of lumber that I had laying around to make it portable so I could bring it down to the marina and hammer on them near the boat. The other trick was that once the brackets were bent to the right angle the long screws that are meant to go though the bracket holes didn't fit very easy anymore because they started to hit against the other side of the bracket.

Looks good.
Wondering if you could post the width of your platform.
How did you decide where to mount it? Could it have been mounted higher or lower just by bending the brackets?

I don't remember how wide it is, but it did just fit into the back of my Durango with both rows of seats folded down.

You can't really mount it higher or lower. The way the platform mates up to the hull is meant to be in a pretty specific place. But, you do need to figure out how to make it level and it's possible you could have it pitched a bit up or down depending on how well you plan it out. The platform is made for the specific make/model/year of the boat, so the platform manufacturer had a specific location in mind.
