Curious as to the height of the R3 on the trailer for storage purposes. Thanks in advance!

This is for a R7 Surf with the standard fixed arch on a trailer from my dealer. You could go to Cobalts website and check the difference between the R3 and R7 Surf's height and probably get a pretty good idea.

Guessing just under 12’ in height… I going to say 11’ 10” comparing the R3 Surf I have here on the lot. The bridge clearance is 3” more on the R7 and the draft is the same….

How about the height from the ground to the top of the windshield? Thanks for the replies!

There is no absolute and difinitive answer until you have the boat sitting on your particular trailer. Not all trailers haul at the same height.
My trailer is a tad higher than most, and sits on 16' rubber.
Some sit lower and run on smaller diameter tires.

I agree with what Tuscany just said. My 220 is on 215 tires and the 222 is on 205 tires.yes both 14 inch. I would think they all try to get as close to 7feet if they can. But the R series is so deep.

Agree every trailer will be different I was just trying to get a ballpark figure because it does sit much deeper than my 2005 200..

Well hopefully some of those answers helped my Cobalt friend!

My windshield height on our R7 is over 9'
If you have an arch, you are pushing over 12' and may need a 14' eve building.
I would have loved the non folding sport arch, but good luck finding storage. I would need a 14' door to fit it in. Dealer said the same. Even the folding arch is quite high folded up.

I realize this thread is dated, however for future buyers I wanted to respond. An R3, depending on the trailer, will be only a few inches over 8 feet high at the windshield. My R3 equipped with a tower (in the folded position) on a Boatmate custom trailer equipped with 15 inch wheels, will NOT fit into an 8 foot-tall garage door opening without tower removal. I ordered a 2018 R3 in 2018, and saw this thread prior to taking delivery of my boat. I had the exact same concerns, but my wife had her heart set on the R3. I could only make an educated guess based on draft, windshield height in the water, etc., as the information was not available anywhere at the time. It is a deep boat and sits tall on the trailer. My garage door opening happens to be 8' 2" high exactly. In order to fit the boat into the garage I had to completely remove the tower. It is not a big job, but does take 2 -3 people to do it safely and avoid damaging the boat. A couple of wires need to be disconnected and two bolts removed. It's not more than a 10-15 minute job. Once the tower was removed, the top of the windshield cleared the garage opening, but only by about an inch with the trailer lowered completely. Those with 8 foot garage door openings will likely have to deflate the tires some to enable the windshield to clear the top of the opening. Once inside the garage, the height should be fine with the tires inflated to capacity.

This sounds like a let’s not store at the house during boating season issue. Where do u store your boat during boating season?

I guess if it's a matter of inches I would also go to a 14 inch wheel and Endurance tires. They can handle the weight of the boat.

If it makes anyone feel better my R7 on 16" rubber goes in my 14 high doors. However I didn't factor in the overhead garage door opener !
So I have to lower the tower. Thank god I have the folding arch. Damn and to think I measured like three times before I bought the boat!
good thing I'm not a carpenter!!

My boats spend the summer on a lake. Garage storage in the winter.
