Post your hotrod or land toy

Post by dustinm »

Here is my latest one a 68 Chevelle

(I guess I loaded these backwards) Taking care of the underside: after rust repair and B&A blasting. Fast fwd paint and reassembly. I did it all myself so there are a few bugs. And this is a usable car so it is not a concours restoration.

I also have a blast from my past, my parents last B body Mopar 68 Coronet 500. This was taken at my uncles service station/bait shop around Mountain Home Arkansas 1985. That was me washing the windows if you hadnt guessed. I remember going out that evening fishing and along the rock cliff side, these sheets/slabs of rock coming out of the cliff into the lake at water level and we were trying to get the bait under them. My uncle told us if you stood on them they could break off and when they fell could suck you under with them. I do not remember the lake we were at.

My current race car (although I'm on competition hiatus until my kids lose interest in me and I can go back to actual racing instead of open track days).

Ramons Ti.jpg

That's gutted with a full cage, Moton remote-canister DA shocks, custom rear suspension geometry that replicates the factory E30 M3 DTM car design, an AIM MXL dash+data system, and for you BMW people an E46 M3 drivetrain in place of the 1.8L four cylinder that came stock. :D

It's a friggin' hoot.

81 corvette, zz4 clone with a bit more cam, 700r4, frame off restoration, fiberglass front and rear bumpers.

Oh, and I made it a convertible. Big mistake.

Beautiful cars! This was my car all through High School and my 20s. Wish I still had it (grr) This was my last picture of it.

By the way, the Marina is where posts that aren't boat related go. I figured I better mention this so none of us get called to the principal's office.😁

Great thread. I'm sure A7 can move it to the marina!
I'll have to dig up something from the past.

Why dont you like it as a convertible? Ive worked on a few and the only ones I like to drive are convertibles.

One of my favorites, maybe because my first car was a black cherry 70 Malibu. Started with a 300hp 350 and then dropped in a stock '74 454 - it was a lot more fun with the 454 as it had 308s or 273s

I hope I dont get banned for this mistake

Slick daily driver! A big block.. all you need!!
I appreciate the stock floor pans. A non salted Chevelle is a wonderful thing.

What are you doing for the rear end gear wise? 4:10 with a 28in tire will still be a good daily?
