Off season projects.

Post by Big Block Power »

So for this off session I have a few.
1- Change spark plugs.
2- Replace serp belt old ones were nonplatium.
3- Repair trailer spare tire mount and the frame.
4- Maybe remove injectors and send them out to get cleaned and balanced. Trying to solve uneven idle. Which could be normal or out could be the plugs. This might wait till after the first start up in the spring once I see if the new plugs solved it.
5- Rewire ignition feed to the stereo so it doesn't shut off everytime I turn the key off. Run it from a open acc switch on the dash.

Nice,

Mine are;
1. Replace the transducer for the Faria depth finder.
2. Both props are getting refinished.
3. Install stereo amp, for a little more juice.
4. Spring, compound and buff, restore gel coat.
5. Add spare trailer tire.
6. New cockpit and bow covers.

I'll join the party, but before I do so have a question for Big Block Power - - At what interval should the injectors be pulled? I have 352hrs.

1. Plugs
2. Thermostat - ran cool and rich so hope replacing fixes both
3. New canvas
4. Adjust bilge/floor compartment latches
5. Replace 2 speakers
6. Build platform/wide base for my Extreme heater

Already did engine oil and drive lube.

You really shouldn't have to. They are basically self cleaning. But you have the paint flaking issues. Can always run a good techron fuel cleaner. I run BG fuel cleaner every year.
I'm only doing mine as I've been chasing a idle surge. Then I found normal plugs in my engine that they really don't recommend so I'm going to get the ones in it that it calls for then see what it does. But hey getting them cleaned and balanced also not a bad thing. I have 300 hrs on but 17 years old. That's lots of gas.

I just worry that your trailer isn’t worthy of thAt boat....glad it will be a cheap fix for you with the bf doing it.

If he screws it up, will you demand they break up?

No I like him πŸ‘πŸ˜‚
Really not happy that this happened. If a trailer wasn't 5k I would junk this Thing. True is not worthy of this boat πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I've never liked the trailer. Prestige trailer it is. I would think that spare tire /ladder should be able to handle my 200lbs buttπŸ˜‚πŸ‘

My list is looking more like a Spring list, but I'll stock up on all the parts through the winter while the boat is hibernating.

1. Deep clean of all removable interior pieces. Full interior in the spring.
2. Touch up rubber on underside of the carpet with Flex Seal.
3. Purchase new speakers and head unit. Install in spring.
4. Purchase new IAC filter and impeller. Spring install.
5. Compound and buff in spring.

I'm sure the list will grow, but this is what's planned currently.

Yes it sucks for sure. I'm glad the marina caught it. I never really see that side of the trailer and last time I stepped on it I didn't notice it move any. Heritage and Prestige are pretty much the same trailer company. Eagle won't sell to the public anymore.
I'll get it fixed. You just wouldn't think that would happen. The person that welded it didn't do prep or heat it correctly or something. I'm not a welder so who knows.
