New Member \ New to me Cobalt

Recently purchased a 2000 Cobalt 293 that is in great condition. Love the boats performance and layout. Have boated for many years and understand boat systems but cannot locate the waste tank or seacock on this boat. It clearly has one of each, as it has the GROCO porcelain head with hand pump. It tries to pull water from the lake but is either closed or clogged. Any thoughts on location and accessing would be appreciated. Impressed with the quality of work to Cobalt boats. \
P.S. The owners manual does tell much about these systems, simply refers to the manufactures literature.

Hi Duke, I just bought a 2001 293
Pretty sure mine draws water from the potable water tank. Exit from the holding tank, through the macerator, and out the seacock a foot or two in front of the starboard motor. Here on Lake Erie the seacock has to be secured closed because dumping is not allowed in Lake Erie.

Hey Duke, welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!
Any pics of your new to you 293? Have you upgraded to stainless cup-holders yet or has that been done by the previous owner?
I believe your head would pull water from the potable water tank. Is that filled?...and is the valve open that's right next to it? That's how our head works. It then exits to the holding tank which can be sucked out using the waste fitting.

sorry to reply to an old thread here, but I'm looking for help on my 293 as well. We have the electric graco pump/macerator, which pulls sea water into the bowl. My question is, I have a macerator switch on the dash, but I have no idea what that is for, and it doesn't seem like it's doing anything when I turn it on. Our toilet works great with no issues, so I'm just confused why there is a switch on the dash.

I "believe" the macerator switch is for pumping waste overboard (illegal in most, if not all inland lakes). You have to switch the Y valve in the bilge to discharge and then turn on the macerator.
