So looks like the outboard version of the R6 is coming live next Tuesday. Anyone excited about this? I would love to see them offer the mercury racing OB's with them. I think that could attract some buyers.

BigBlock is holding his breath hoping for the Mercury 450R outboard. I'm sure he'd buy an R6 with one right away!!

Personally I'm waiting for the R6 Surf edition to be introduced.

Considering Volvo Penta bought Seven marine recently, I could see a Seven being a premium offering on a larger outboard too. Lots of configuration possibilities that are harder to come by with inboards.

This would be ideal for those who like OBs

When the Cobalt brass came to the Table Rock regatta last year they were on a 30sc with yamaha 300’s. Maybe we’ll see the 425?

Really you know that's already happening Tank😂😂

John got me all excited Mentioning 7marine on a Cobalt.

BobRae 1 can only hope. I would be in like Flynn!

If Cobalt doesn't put these r series engines on the back nor a 7marine im bailing on them.

Greetings,
I'm awaiting the R6 reveal. From those who have seen this before, will there be pricing incentives on the new model? Or will it be full retail? The Ft Lauderdale Boat Show is coming the end of October and a Cobalt rep said they plan on having an R6 outboard there. Boat show prices the best?

Thanks for your wisdom.

I would be very interested in the boat show pricing as the dealer pricing in my area is just so high and the will not negotiate at all. Which means I will have to wait another year for a new boat. I have also been researching new wood boats and would consider one if pricing stay so high.

Outboards on the coast make a lot of sense. If there is an option for a 400R or larger, that’s gotta be awesome if the weight is similar to the R6 stern Just bought a 25sc with a 300 mercury. Absolutely love it.

It’s hard to know. This is a strange year with constrained supply due to a Cobalt factory shut down combined with increased boat sales shifting things more towards a seller’s market. I suspect by late fall/winter things may balance out with some deals returning.

Boat show “specials” in my area tend to be higher prices than one can negotiate on there own. I remember paying about 10% less than the boat show price for my r7

I live in the SE, thought about purchasing a new boat at the ATL boat show last January but decided to wait one more year. Current discount is 17% off list verse 26% off list at the boat show.
