New dash panel
New dash panel
When we bought our 262 it had not been ordered with the wood grain dash option, and I always liked that look seeing it on other Cobalts. Through a little online searching, I found Tecnographic, Inc. and they mocked up the dash and glovebox pieces for me.
I’m really happy with how it turned out, and was surprised it was as cheap as it was. I mean, let’s be real - nothing is cheap on a Cobalt if it’s done to OEM specs - but this project was cheaper than a flag pole so that’s saying something! They have a number of different wood grains to choose from. Even though the 2011s had a burl wood panel with a glossy finish, I went with the blonde zebra wood option in a matte finish. I’ve seen this on a couple years’ newer models and really thought it looked sharp.
Anyway, if you’re thinking of doing this, reach out to Sam at Tecnographic, he’ll take great care of you!

Looks great, did you swap the panels yourself?

Re: New dash panel
I did. It was pretty easy once I got myself down in the forward helm storage area (I’m not a contortionist). Popped off the hanging bar and one carpeted access panel and then had access to everything.
A couple posts on the new gauge panel were in different spots (I didn’t confirm on the schematics he sent for proof) so I had to pilot 2 new holes. No big deal though.

Re: New dash panel
Hi, I also want to report a good experience with Tecnographic. I had them make new panels for my 2000 190. They had the template in stock. I needed thinner aluminum for flex and a few minor design tweaks. Came out beautiful. Can’t wait to actually install them.
Got the new gauges in. Just need some warmer weather to get them hooked up!
