New Summer Over the Tower Mooring Cover for 2014 220s

This just got completed for me. I had Artisan Boat Covers in central OH make this summer over the tower mooring cover. My boat lives on a trailer outside year around. The cobalt mooring cover did not hold up well for me from being water tight. I tried 303 last year to help it and it just sort of always let water through. Obviously that takes a toll on the boat so I had them make me an over the tower cover for the summer. Material is top gun which is similar to aqualon but coated by rubber on both sides. Obviously you can’t tow with this cover on more than 5 miles an hour.

If I was buying new...I would go with this mooring cover and add side skirts for winter. For when I am trailering and on vacation I would get a snap cover prob.

I already had artisan make me a over the tower cover for the winter a couple years ago and it is awesome. Boat is just as dry and clean as I left it in the fall when I open it up in the spring

What do you all think?

Looks like we should go camping....maybe that's the reason for your username? :D

Seriously though, nice job protecting your investment.

Yours lives on a trailer outside for the summer. How do you like your cover? Does it keep water out?

Yes but it’s a cuddy. The anchor locker likes to collect water though as all that topside water tends to run down to it.

Interesting, ..How is held in place? Is tightened? Do you put the boat on a mooring? Year round outside... snow?

I'm using ratchet straps (similar to what the cobalt mooring strap does). you could also do rope with a rope rachet. My boat lives on a trailer year around. The tower provides all the structure this boat would need for handling snow anyway. Nothing inside needed for the structure besides the tower. I have a version of this for the winter that goes past my boat stripe. It does have 4 straps from the side to the trailer that this one doesnt have. One on port in the middle, one on the starboard in the middle, and two under the swimplantform.

The winter cover let nothing in, boat was just as clean in the spring as when I left it in the fall. If I did this all again from the start. I would just have one cover with zip on zip off sides down to the bootstripe.

I'll use the cobalt mooring cover when I take it with me on vacation to a lake and it is in for the week.

Same question. My experience with the Cobalt mooring cover is similar to yours, even after "waterproofing". Luckily, I am able to keep my boat in a garage for the winter, but living in the Pacific Northwest we get a lot of rain outside of just winter. Looking for other options for when it's on the trailer at home and not on the lift at the lake.

Thanks! I'll have to look into one of these.
