What’s this oil leak

Walked out to my boat today and saw this oil leak on the transom directly under the outdrive. I can wrench on cars but boats are kinda new to me. Anyone know what’s causing it? Easy fix or ? Btw it’s and mercruiser Engine with alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive.

There’s an oil tube in the transom assembly for the gear oil reservoir. Yours probably dry rotted and cracked.

Is the reservoir empty? See now I'm happy I have a dipstick.( Matt)

Dipstick... yes very convenient as it’s checked so often.
especially when on a hoist.
To the OP have you had any work done that required removal of the drive? ( inspection etc?)

No I haven’t had any service on the boat in about a year and a half

Drive was fine before that
