Warning beep but for what?!

Immediately after starting I am getting a warning beep every 20-30 seconds. Single beep repeatedly but no message on the instruments. Oil pressure and water temp both nominal (38-65 psi and 158 degrees.)
Tried shutting everything down multiple times but no luck. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Sorry, boat is 2018 CS23 with Volvo forward drive.

Have you checked your depth finder alarm setting? Many have been fooled by thinking it is an engine alarm.
How is she powered? Any pics?

Welcome. Sweet ride. Sorry I don't have the warning chart for a new Volvo. Might be a call to a dealer after you double check your depth finder like A7 said.

Check the kill switch lanyard on the shifter/throttle. On my boat (VP 380), if this is pulled out, the boat will start and run, but I get a single beep every 30-60 seconds.

good to know W. For the older models it won't start at all as it kills the ignition spark.

Wait, the boat will start and run with the kill switch activated? Kind of defeats the purpose, no?

Nothing wrong with that. It warns you.

Look at you EVC screen if equipped - might show error there.

I assume since the boat was started with the lanyard out, that the new electronics are smart enough to know that the operator was not just ejected from the vessel. I also assume, but have not tested, that if I pulled the lanyard out while running, that the engine would quit immediately. I guess this is a difference between the old analog systems and the new computer controlled systems.

I have a 2002 Cobalt 240. Yesterday, after taking the boat out for the first time this season, the engine alarm started beeping. It was a series of beeps - double beep, then 2 single beeps, hen repeat. All the gauges looked good. I put it in idle a few times en route back to the dock but it stayed on. When I got back to the dock and lifted it a bit to steady while I looked further it stopped. The book lists possible causes as low oil pressure, blocked cooling system or overheating. I didn't see any of that on initial inspection. Any ideas?

You may have checked this already but the depth finder alarm can sound similar to the engine alarm.

Yep, welcome to the new world. It will only kill the engine when it is pulled while the the engine is running. Wanted just to crank the engine to pump any residual water out last fall and surprise!!!

Had exactly same thing yesterday. Kill switch got disconnected from throttle. Had not considered that at first because boat started and ran normally .. so why doesn't kill switch disconnected disable my 23'R6 w Volvo Penta 380 ?

The kill switch on the newer VP's operates as intended. It will shut off the engine when the engine is running and the dongle is pulled from its location. If the driver and dongle go overboard the remaining people may not know how to reseat the switch to get it started again which may be needed to return to the person in the water.
