May 2020 Pics

Post by MnLakeBum »

This one is cheating as it was April 30th but the fact that boats are in the water and we are enjoying the water sports around here before May 1st is noteworthy. I saw a few other wake/surf boats out yesterday, more than a dozen fisherman, and a few jets skis other than ours.

The water was 51* when I took this shot of my son so a bit chilly even with a wetsuit.

That's cold no matter how you slice it! But it's still a great shot!

We’ve done the same with .5 mil wet suits and higher. You’ve gotta he dedicated to be in the water at those temps!

Nah, it's only cold when you jump in, lol. It motivates you not to fall!

No wetsuit on your hands, neck or face. And then the wind? No way...Not for this fair weather redneck!

C'mon YT, you haven't really lived until you've surfed/wakeboarded during a snow storm! I call it 'Snowboarding', I think it's gonna catch on.

We cheat and start with the board on the swim platform and just slip back into the wave. The cold water is certainly motivation to not fall or only fall once when you are done with your surf session!

I wish but after being unemployed I don't have half a mill laying around anymore. Lol
It's going to be a weird year of boating launching where everyone else goes to. We were so spoiled.

I got the word from my buddy today. Basically... "your next, go get it out of the building, and out of my way"(another 35 behind me).
So we went down and hauled the old girl home. It's the earliest we ever taken one of our boats out of storage. With marinas getting the go ahead to open, things are wide open. Everybody is bored stiff and wants to get their boats ready for the water. Of course it started to rain when we were about half way home. Oh well, it got its first bath of 2020. Water temp yesterday was 37F, so we are in no rush to get it put in just yet.

Well, our Cobalt is still in the factory, so we did the best we could. Yes, The Old Hickory Lake (Old Stickery) is that color currently. It will turn to a nice shade of green later this summer. Spring rains keep it this color for a while.
