Hi all,
Looking forward to joining and learning from the Cobalt community! Just got a 98 190 with the 5.0 and duo prop.
I like to do most of my car maintenance unless it involves opening up the engine. I am having the shop do the boots, cable, gimball and yoke seal this time... but will plan tackling other stuff on my own. First will be repainting the sterndrive.
I’m in Columbus Ohio but like to get to Ky when I can.
I’m also a newbie to boat ownership, so please be gentle!
Cheers,
Ian

Hey Ian. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
There are some great folks and lots of wisdom to go around on the forum. Thanks for the intro too. We do love pics here.
Second greatest hull ever made by Cobalt.
How do you plan on using your 190?
Do you do any Lake Erie boating?
Again welcome aboard mate!

I did buy the Louisville boat, but it was a private seller. He came down to $9k and it made sense. Should pull good for a small boat with a 5.0 and duo prop.
The interior had been redone and is in good shape. Just the back sun deck has some weathering.
I’ll use the boat on the rivers and lakes around me for slalom and wakeboard. We have 4 boys (blended family) so the boat will fill up quick. Considering a tower to get stuff out of the way. Any recommendations?
Need to figure out how to post pics from my phone. I dint even have the boat right now. I left it in Louisville to get some work done on it.
Barts Marine Service went above and beyond to help me navigate the process of buying the boat. Can’t say enough good things about their customer service.

Yes it's funny I offered him 9k a few weeks earlier and of course turned me down. I saw your survey. That was a great job by who ever did that. That put you right in line of where you need to be to buy that boat. I bought another members 190 last year and never got to drive it. That sucked. It sold to fast. Liquid has the Goat 190. The Nauti's on here has a 190 brute there 222. You will love the boat.
Look at Samson for a tower. They currently make them for Cobalt now.
To post a picture just click on the attachment tab below and then the add file tab and click on your picture you want to upload and then click submit. But sure if it's fixed or not but hold your phone in the Landscape mode for pictures on here.

Congrats, the wife and I saw your post on the facebook group, we are in Louisville and Katie's first boat was a 190 so we were keeping an eye on the sale. You will have to let us know how the 5.0 and dual prop does, her old one was a 4.3 /w the SX drive and would touch 53mph, it was a fun boat, some say the greatest boat ever made,I miss it.
Oh and as far as a tower, Samson is the people to call. They were/are? the OEM supplier to Cobalt.

Congratulations on the 190. I had one for 12 years, it was a great boat. Sometimes I miss the responsiveness and it’s ease of docking and loading it.

It’s amazing, I don’t even have the boat yet and I found myself musing that I wish it had a 5.7, or was 22 ft. I have made a deal with the devil

It will be fine. If you have a 6.2 you wish you had the 8.1. If you had the 430 you wish you had the 240

sorry that feeling will never go away.
But a 22 ft with a 8 1 will cost you 35k to 40k. I have one of you want. Lol

I know I got in cheap. I think it’s a great boat. It’ll just be nice to be on the water with the family. Looking forward to summer

Yea use it this year. See if it works move up next year. The 200 has a bunch more room then a 190. Or go to a 220a good 25k gets you in a nice newer/older style hull.
