Closing on CS22 today

Post by XLI »

I thought I would start my board participation at the very beginning. I go to close on my first new boat in less than an hour. It's a sizeable chunk for me, but the wife is probably a bigger driver in this purchase than me and we love planning vacations around boating. I am buying the boat out of dealer stock but it probably has a couple options I wouldn't order, but they will be nice (upgraded sound, fender clips & RGB interior lighting) but I have to admit I will secretly appreciate all of them. It comes with the 300 hp 6.2 Merc. I have had VP in the past and know they are good but my dealer only orders Merc. I like that the Merc is purpose built for marine use and I hope any bugs have been worked out. I'm a little nervous so wish me luck!

Congrats on the cs22. If they only order merc why do they have a Volvo? Are you sure it's a 6.2 not a 5.3?
You will be fine. Volvo is making a great package.
Let's get pictures posted or our doesn't exist 😂

Well I survived closing and I gained a bunch of reading material! I think I saw where you are supposed to list options in your newbie introduction. As I mentioned above, I can't take credit for any of these but will enjoy the heck out of them. So here goes:
- 3 color (ebony hull, shale side, frost bootstripe) (interior is Tahoe grey)
- tower (black w/black bimini)
- fender clips
- upgraded sound system with transom remote
- dual battery w/dual chare circuit
- Mercruiser 6.2 300 horse w/bravo 3 drive (inside prop is 4 blade which I found interesting)
- bow & cockpit covers
- oyster sea grass floor covering
- docking lights
- transom lighting
- led interior rgb lighting

I think that covers it. I have a couple of mercruiser questions I will post in the (hopefully) appropriate section.

Thank you sir. I had a '15 200s that I bought used. It was a great boat and it's quality really got me hooked on Cobalts. We looked at other boats before we decided to buy this one but sitting in boat after boat just magnified the quality and comfort of the Cobalt. We've ruined ourselves and I don't know where we can go from here. Are we stuck with one brand for life?

I forgot to ask. Now that I am on the black boat team are there any special requirements? As the new guy do I have to bring doughnuts to the meeting?

Welcome from California! Nicely built!
I like the transom lighting as we night boat. Your gonna have to give us a report on operating them. ( remote? Key off ? Etc).

We can chat over donuts!
