Hi all:
Checking in as a new member. Just purchased my friends 2016 220S W the 4.3L 280hp. We have a small place on Lake Keowee in upstate SC and have always been a fan of other folks cobalts and decided to take the plunge and could not be happier. Love the 220s size and the ride is incredible even on very choppy days. Also really happy w the 280hp.....it will fly!

One more pic. Not sure why my daughter felt the need to not fit the entire boat in the pic. Teenagers;-)

You are going to make some great memories on her. Looks like a great setup too. Have you owned other boats on that lake? The Cobalt will treat you well with her ride and quality.

Thanks. Yes I had a 2006 sea ray 195 sport w the v6 195hp MC for the last 7 years, that we absolutely loved. It was a tank of a boat that literally always started. We opted for a larger boat that would take the chop on lake Keowee a lot better and this cobalt fits the bill....it has the best ride of any 22footer I’ve ever been on. With all that being said I was a huge fan of my sea ray...that old girl was one reliable boat you could always count on. If the cobalt is as reliable I will be one happy camper;-)

Welcome from the Kentucky contingent. I too have the 220s and agree whole heartedly, one smooth ride. I can't speak from experience on the V6-280 but it should still accelerate and pull the holeshot with a vengeance, especially with the duoprop drive. Real happy with mine and hope you are too. Welcome!

Man I had to see what all of this hype is all about on this new 240 and 280 4.3. So I spent countless hours on the web last night looking for a new option for my boat.
Actually boat test magazine did a good test on this engine in a 232wss. It's actually impressive the power they have. The graph just shoots straight up. Crazy torgue all the way up to 5800 rpms.
I'm sold. New boat maybe this year.

Bb, maybe us v6ers have won you over. Maybe a name change, say to Small Block, is in order?
Welcome, Gamecock. I have same configuration and love it.
