My 226 Conked out and now lifeless

Was on the lake today. My 2002 226 with Volvo 5.7 power started normally, and then idled out of the bay for about 2 minutes. I then took it up to 3,000 RPM to plane out and it went dead. All electrical other than the blower and trim showed no signs of life. No click of the starter, nothing. The batteries are new this year, all connections look fine. Is there a main fuse on this boat or fusible link? If yes, anyone know where it is? Lucky a good Samaritan towed us back to our island, as it was pretty windy today. Opinions and theories greatly appreciated.

50 amp breaker. Mine is behind the starboard exhaust manifold riser.

Yes a red button with the number 50 on top. And I was going to take a picture of it Monday but I didn't.

Thanks BBP. If this turns out to be the issue, is it indicative of some underlying problem, or just something that happens every 17 years?

Something did something. Hopefully a 1 time deal. Did you hold the trim at the stop too long. Is the starter drawing way too much? That's a big power surge to pop that. Fire it up in the driveway next time to see if it pops Again if that is what happened.

If I remember correctly I was bringing the trim up when it shut down.

Well get it running and try that again. Could be a bad motor

Turned out it wasn't the breaker at the back of the boat. Found a disconnected wire by the ignition switch. Back in business!
