Installing tower speakers on R5 Surf

I have a 2018 R5 Surf with the JL Audio premium sound. I want to add tower speakers and have bought 2 8” JL Tower speakers and an M200 to drive them. I found the wires in the tower easy enough, but cannot figure out where they terminate on the other end. Are they run to the board behind where the amps are mounted and terminated? I did not see them but didn’t want to take everything apart to check until I knew where they were. I called Cobalt and could not get a straight answer. Anyone done this install? Thanks!

I have not but have been wondering this myself. I know the tower speakers are installed by the dealer. Mag e they can direct you in the right direction

You haven't ordered your speakers yet? I am bringing tools and wire so we can knock this out on Thursday before the big cruise.

I just did this on my 220s with a Samson tower. The speaker wire came out at the base of the tower (left side). I added a second amp to the boat and installed it under a seat. Bridge (?) amp and ran power from amp to battery switch. Was charged like 5 hrs labor.

Hey BQ. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
I can’t help you with your tower wiring but may do something similar with a JL setup in the future.
If you figure it out be sure to post pics of your finished product.
Any pics of your boat?

i did my R3 recently- the speaker wires are run up to the punch unit and stubbed with the orange connector as in the photo

Nice puttputt. At least Cobalt hasn't changed there quality wire.
So I don't have a r3 or a new model what orr where is the punch unit?

On the r5/7 it’s under the head. I’m about to be at my boat for 10 days. I will do some investigating

Thanks! That is helpful! Did you mount your amp there or by the other amps? I noticed the RCA inputs are both places. If you ran your wires to the amp in front of the helm, how did you run them? Thanks!

on the R3 the punch unit is on port side below glove box and on other side of the partition that has the amps in storage area. I added the 3rd amp (m200) next to the other 2 .

I am installing tower speakers in R3 surf. The wire jack labeled tower speakers has two sets of white wires and two sets of orange. The wires in the tower are blue, when I connect to the only blue wires seem to be unused by the amps, it back fed my helm speaker with zone 4 sound. Need help identifying the actual tower wires at the amp rack.
