Hi All, I'm getting ready to replace my batteries on my 2005 272. I currently have two Group24. Curious if you guys run 2 Deep Cycles, 1 of each, or another set up. What group as well? Any insight is much appreciated.

We currently have two Group 24 starting batteries on the boat. They are about two years old and as of last season were still going strong. Not an ideal setup, but we have listened to music for about 5 hours and they still started the boat. Once they die I am going AGM Dual Purpose group "the largest I can fit in the boat" - or group 27 lol. We will most likely go /w the Duracell AGM's from Sams club.
If we had an ACR I would debate one starting and one deep cycle, but since we just have a simple battery switch dual purpose AGM seems the best compromise.

Look up there,

on the right border below your name. See the little magnifying glass? Hit that and type in "batteries" and 437 battery threads will come up. This topic has been discussed quite a bit and I'm sure you'll find your answer! In the end, it's as debatable as oil as to what's best.
I just run two 24s and have never had a problem. And I run a lot of juice through my amps.
