Is it common for there not to be an hour meter on these Cobalts?

Everyone I speak to is quite dumbfounded when they hear there isn’t an hour meter.

I find it hard to believe it doesn't have a meter. Someone could have removed it. It's normally in the engine compartment somewhere. Mine is screwed to the side panel on the back wall of what I would call the firewall of a car. But you never knew it may bit have one. If it was fuel injected you could get that info off the ecu.
Oh well if the compression is good your good to go. That's all I would want to know. By the shape you keep it in I wouldn't be afraid of it.

Shocked it does not have an hour meter. Curious what the story is behind that.

Looks to be in pretty clean shape. Is that some cracking I'm seeing in the starboard bow cushion near the threading?

My '96 has a hour meter, my guess is someone removed it at some point if it's not in the bilge.

My 2011 doesn't have an hour meter, but the info can be selected on one of the gauges. I don't know if any 95s were built this way.

Location is starboard of engine on a angle bracket as I found by this one on Boat Trader. Maybe it’s folded up out of view? I see the same wire harness going there from your pic.
