Info sought on the 246

I have a lead on a 2003 246, navy blue with a 5.7 GXi DP. The boat isn't available to look at yet and probably won't be 'til spring. I hear it's pretty clean, but I do not know anything more specific. However, it's close enough to what we're looking for that I'd like to be prepared when it hits the market.

Any thoughts on the 246? Anything specific to this model or engine I should look at when the time comes? I searched for 246 references on this forum, and the posts I saw suggest the engine's a good match and it's a quick hull. I'm happy to be educated otherwise.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, it'll be used on Lake Champlain for cruising, a little water skiing and not many people at a time. Interestingly, a new consideration is ease of access for a somewhat disabled elder, but I'm not sure any boat in this class is going to be terrific for that.

Thanks,
Rick

Welcome from Wisconsin. I'll let the 240 guys chime in. Yes the 5.7 will work. 8.1 will work better. Just saying that's a big boat.

Great layout with side entry and swivel seating. She has a 20 degree hull bottom so she’s efficient .( May like smoother water at speed though).
The 320 hp version should have F6 props if she’s geared with a sea level outdrive.
I’m guessing 46 to 49 mph as she does have some weight. The next model up that era was the 262 .

Get us some pics and specs when you can.

Thank you, gentlemen. We’ll see where things go from here.
