Our new-to-us 2006 232 was delivered last week to Lake Havasu AZ where it will be stored. Got it registered and on the water for a little bit last Tuesday. The lake was not busy at all, so it made for good practicing launching and retrieving.
It has the VP 420 HP with only 102 hours.
Here is my to do list for next trip over to AZ:
1. Order some better-looking registration numbers.
2. Find the source of a small oil leak at front of engine slinging off of a belt or pully. I think the dealer that did the pre-buy put too much belt dressing on the serpentine belt and there is a small leak somewhere.
3. Order a spare ignition key.
4. Fully charge batteries. They were flat so I had to jump start. Our truck has 2 batteries, so I just unhooked one and brought it with us just in case.
5. Find the stern light.

Thanks for updating us kas232ca...just over two months to the day.
Such a great color combination too. I call it Blue Angel blue and gold.
Some folks have used the domed registration letters/numbers discussed here....

(there are some other designs discussed in that thread as well)...
PS...just be sure to know your states registration size and shape requirements.

Welcome. All of that belt dusting your seeing is very common. Every boat I've had has had that. Stern light is prob a Atwood or Perko brand. Do you know what maint. Has been done on the engine? I would make sure the impeller is new. It's easy to change. Were you at ramp 6 on your Lake? I would get good at it brute the site cards come out at that ramp. They are cruel. Not sure if you have seen all of the vids of it. Congrats.

Welcome also from California! That’s a nice looking combo and it appears you’ve got a handle on the small details.
Cobalt website will have manuals ( Owners section) in the event you did receive any.
Let us hear the captains report!

For your registration letters I used 3Dlettering on Ebay. They are a bit pricey but exactly what I wanted, and his products are quality that last a long time. I used domed letters for the boat name and I chrome letters and numbers in the Cobalt font for my registration number to match the Cobalt letters on the sides.

For your stern light you can pick one up at West Marine or Academy. Try to find a stainless version to match the rest of the hardware on your boat.
Do you have an onboard charger? There is a thread here on that, several members have installed them to keep batteries maintained and lasting a long time.

I really like the color as well. Will check out the domed numbers. Got pulled over a few years ago on Lake Powell by NPS because our gradiated numbers on the jet ski's weren't legal in Utah...
'Will fly for food' -- Who do you fly for? I am going to do my rotary to fixed wing soon.

I had the impeller changed during the pre-buy so I had a baseline.
We actually launched at the state park ramp. I knew it would be wider and calmer and there is a dock right there. I have seen some of the videos for Site 6 ramp-no thanks...
Thanks for the info.

Your letters look nice. I think the light is in the boat, just have to find it. There is no power at the storage facility, so I can't charge there. I wish I could figure out a solar solution, but I am sure they wouldn't allow that on the roof. I guess I will just have to pull the batteries out for the winter and bring them home.

Thanks. My daughter goes to USF, so we are up there fairly often.
Do you boat at Lake Tahoe?

Rotary license. Nice!
Just retired flying 26 years for the military and have also been flying for the majors since 1999. Still keep my MEII current!
