I will be signing the delivery papers Saturday. I haven't driven one and can't find any reviews online of my power package with this hull. Can anyone out there with the V8 300 VP duoprop give me some insight on what kind of top speed to expect? After break in of course. I usually boat lightly loaded, half tank fuel. Can't wait 'til warm weather. Thanks,Brian

Forgot to add Lake elevation 725-750 ASL. Hoping it will break the 50mph barrier.

Stag , with our v6 280 hp dp with 2 people on board, we were at 49.5-50 using boat speedometer. This was on Laurel Lake in Ky which is about same altitude. I’ll be interested to see what you get but I would guess about 52. Good luck.

I remember those pics stagdad....but I’m talking about the selfies showing you and the sales person in front of the boat as you hand over the check tomorrow.

Btw, I’ve done this with every car and boat we own. Makes for a great photo history which the family will enjoy viewing someday.

Actually one of the selling points on my first Stingray was that it was supposed to be a mid 50's boat while using minimal HP. I couldn't wait. Got it in the water and the best it would do all trimmed up and aired out bouncing off the rev limiter was 42mph. WTF? It was supposed to come with a 23p stainless prop and found that they had installed a 21p. Installed and the speed went up 2mph, still not mid 50's.Dealer gave me a 28p prop to try and it would still bounce the rev limiter. Finally figured out that even though MercCruiser put the correct gear ratio sticker on the outdrive (1.81:1), they didn't actually put in the correct gears. Only took a year and a half to sort that out!

Yecks. That sucks. Bouncing of the rev limiter was a big clue. Lol
Mine was a old heavy stingray with a 4cyl 180hp in it. Or something like that. It rode great.
