I am interested in doing some fishing from my R5 and interested in any way to rig with rod holders?

I can't believe I am encouraging this behavior - but hey your boat whatever I guess.

That's a nice option. So where will you be fishing. Are you going to use the cooler as a live well?

So I grew up on lake ontairio and thought it would be fun to teach my son to troll a bit for king salmon. Just trying to think
How I could rig it up. Will also so some lake bass fishing - I’m on the water!

That's great story. I'm not a fisherman by any means. I really don't like fish. I would rent a charter and bond on his boat.
But do you have any spots that you could mount something like this too? My buddies 14 year old was a first mate this year on a charter boat on lake superior. He loved it and made great cash.

Ok in thinking hard on this one. What if you bought the umbrella holder from slideracer and put one of these in it?

Thanks - love the innovation- like the idea of converting umbrella pole into a holder for two rods and thinking I could mount one to each side of the tower - great idea! Thanks again!

Ok now let's hear about the boat and yourself in the new members section and let's get pictures of the beauty.
Here's the umbrella link.

Wow you got off real easy! Most people are like Fish on a Cobalt!! Why would you keep dead fish on a cobalt!! Keep the hooks and bait away from that beauty!
;)
I love fishing but thankfully my neighbor on the lake has a fishing boat and we go stripper fishing a decent amount. Otherwise I would probably be doing same as you.

I warned him right away and the heavy hitters stayed away this time. I guess he didn't want to cut off the tower so anything other than that we let side now. Lol

Ya know, if a guy wants to spend his money on a Cobalt and get fish guts, blood and scales in it, then power to him! It's his boat!

But not on mine... You'd have to swim to the bank of you drug a fish on board.

Well that’s funny, we tried off our 220 a few weeks ago and found that there is zero boat control to try and fish a certain area, noisy to all the other fisherman around you, pain in the ars starting it up when it’s dead quiet and the alarm goes off when you turn the key and every boat for 200’ knows it’s you. Lol. Well I just went and bought a used console fishing boat that has a smaller outboard, depth finders rod holders, trolling motor on the bow, live well etc. for a mere 2k w trailer and now for the off months of regular boating we can have some fun out fishing. Much better to fish from doesn’t take up much room and the main boat stays clean.

One more reason you need to go to the Cobalt event.
