Bimini Top Stanchion

Post by jKeith09 »

Need help finding a bimini top part.

I lost the stanchion for a 2006 262 for when the Bimini top is in the folded back position. I've searched online and haven't had any luck. I've attached a few pictures.

Hey welcome to the CobaltChat forum jkeith09. So glad you found us!👍🏻

You may want to send a PM to Jrcramer1. He’s been parting out a 260 series and may have that part. He’s located in Rochester.

Any pictures of your baby? That’s an amazing model. Where do you Boat? Btw, if you have time, feel free to introduce yourself in a new thread. We love hearing how folks get into their Cobalts. .....with pics. :D

And welcome aboard mate!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Unfortunately, I don't have any good photos of it. I'll be sure to take some next time I'm at the lake and start up a new thread.

It's actually my parents boat who let me borrow it and their condo on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. That's why I'd like to track down the part I lost.

I've contacted both RNR-Marine and Great Lakes Skipper. Neither have the part.

I lost two bimini poles on the interstate after a couple screws backed out, but went back and found one of them. There's a shop here in Salt Lake City that specializes in custom awnings, boat covers, and bimini tops. I took the pole I had covered in road rash and they made a new pair for $160, all of the hardware was stainless steel and and exactly matched the original Cobalt poles. If you can't find a part or a shop that can do it out there then contact these guys with pictures and measurements and they can probably give you a quote. Or you could mail the pole you have to me and I could take it over there and ask them to copy it.

Here's the shop I'm talking about: http://sugarhouseawning.com

Why does it have curves? It it a clearance issue or just style? Making straight poles would be mucho easier and cost effective.

I think I have two short straight ss poles somewhere in my garage. It'll be a few days before I get back home but I'll look, and if I find them I'll send you a PM with the measurements. If they fit they're yours.

I thought the same thing YT.
I don’t remember a curved Bimini piece on the 262.

The diagonal brace is straight.

I believe the reason it's shaped that way is because the bimini top is wider than the attachment points on the boat. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a picture of it installed on the boat while I was at the lake.

Any good canvas shop in your area should be able to make you one of those.

Hi everyone, I was curious to know if anyone has any other options beyond those mentioned in this thread. I contacted both of the companies listed and will let everyone know what I discover. Unfortunately, the forward stanchions on my bimini top were damaged and one is at the bottom of the lake from apparent vandalism.
